As Director of Sales for Denny Elwell Company, Blake leads a team of eight commercial real estate agents serving the Greater Des Moines area, focused on retail, office, industrial, land, and investment properties. Denny Elwell Company services more than 4 million square feet of commercial space.
Blake has more than ten years of experience in all types of commercial property including retail, office, flex, and industrial commercial space as well as development and multi-family investment land. He obtained his broker license in 2003.
Blake began his career with Executive Real Estate Services (ERS) in 2002, after graduating from Des Moines Area Community College. He progressed through many roles within the company including Commercial Property Manager (successfully managing more than 1.5 million square feet of commercial space) Leasing Manager, Broker of Record, and Managing Director. Blake was responsible for overseeing the acquisition, disposition, and leasing of commercial property and managing the ERS brokerage team.
In early 2009 Blake and his business partner, Michael Billings, developed the highly productive Brown & Billings Commercial Real Estate Services team with Iowa Realty Commercial. They assisted the real estate needs of property owners and businesses alike on both a local and national level.
In 2011, the Brown & Billings CRES team joined the Denny Elwell Company and opened a branch office in Waukee to service the western suburbs of the Des Moines metro market. In 2015, Blake transitioned into his new role as Director of Sales.
Blake’s experience has given him extensive knowledge of all property and transaction types. Furthermore, he has completed multiple leasing and sales transactions as a tenant/buyer and landlord/seller representative. Blake’s hands-on experience includes marketing suburban offices, retail centers, and land developments, as well as the sale of investment product.
Blake believes that consistent follow-through and management of the entire lease and/or sales process is the key to success and maintaining long-lasting relationships with the client. His goal is to continue to provide clients with quality service based on the core values of honesty, integrity, and professionalism.
