Dan Corron is a commercial real estate sales and leasing agent here at Denny Elwell Company, as part of the full-service commercial real estate arm of the company. He is one of three sales and leasing agents in their Ankeny and Waukee offices tasked with its internal portfolio in addition to representing third-party clients in their commercial endeavors all over Iowa. Some of Dan’s notable clients include Best Western International, Red Wing Shoes, Backspin Indoor Golf, Ohana Volleyball Club, and three donut shops. He also enjoys his work in the LIHTC sector with such groups as Vecino Group and Woda Cooper. He also played an integral role in attracting Dough Co, Naughtea, El Molcajete, The Juice Company, HobbyTown, Web Care Health, and Zombie Burger to Ankeny. He can easily be spotted in a crowded room with his signature hat and beard and is respected by his friends and colleagues with his can-do attitude and passion to please.
Dan was born and raised in the Des Moines area, graduated from West Des Moines Valley High School, and attended Luther College where he met his wife (Rachel). After a short time in Chicago after college, Dan and Rachel decided to move back because of the unparalleled opportunities that Des Moines has to offer.
Dan has a unique work history where he is able to use his past experience to help with his current clients. He started his sale career at The Buckle in West Des Moines which led to becoming the store manager in Vernon Hills Illinois, polished his technique as a server and bartender in small-town Iowa as well as high-end Chicagoland suburbs, and honed his negotiations and marketing skills at Toyota of Des Moines where he was an Internet Sales Manager and the Scion Champion responsible for the dealership’s Scion brand strategy. These skills help him better understand the large as well as finer details that help his clients succeed.
When not at work he keeps busy trying to be the best husband and role model to his two daughters. He also feels passionate about volunteering his time and talent to the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute as a Board Member, Committee Co-chair, and founder of the Downtown Des Moines Chamber Development Insights Group (DIG), Board Member for the Iowa Commercial Real Estate Association (ICREA), part of the Wine, Food, & Beer Showcase Committee for the Des Moines Metro Opera, and is highly involved in his church in multiple leadership roles. If there is free time that pops up in his busy schedule you might find him on his bike, on the golf course, or traveling to Disney World or a beach with a drink in his hand.
Dan’s accomplishments include being named one of The Business Record’s Forty Under 40 honorees in 2020 and being recognized by the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute (currently known as Lead DSM) as a 2015 Community Leadership Graduate.
